Frequently asked questions about Costa Cruises

Costa is Italy's oldest cruise line and stands for an authentic Italian way of life: Italian cuisine with pasta, pizza and fresh ingredients, Italian design and multilingual atmosphere. Costa is for guests who want a stylish yet relaxed Mediterranean mood – no dress code obligation, but plenty of flair.

Costa currently operates 9 ships: Costa Smeralda and Costa Toscana (~6,500 guests each, LNG, modern flagships), Costa Diadema (4,900 guests), Costa Fascinosa, Costa Favolosa, Costa Pacifica, Costa Serena (~3,800 guests each), Costa Fortuna (3,500 guests) and Costa Deliziosa (2,800 guests).

Costa is deliberately multilingual: announcements, menus and shows are in Italian, German, French, English and often Spanish. Most crew speak several languages – German-speaking guests are well taken care of, even though Italian sets the base atmosphere.

Included in the fare: cabin, full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner in main restaurants), access to pools, fitness, shows, kids clubs and port fees. Not included: drinks (except water in some packages), specialty restaurants, shore excursions, wellness and gratuities (around CHF 10 per day per person). We recommend the Costa drinks package for worry-free enjoyment.

Very: on many dates up to two children under 18 travel free or heavily discounted in their parents' cabin. Onboard there are Costa Kids Clubs (by age group), teens clubs, pools with water slides, family restaurants and kid-friendly menus. Also ideal for multi-generational trips with grandchildren.

Most Costa cruises start from Savona, Civitavecchia (Rome), Genoa, Marseille, Barcelona or Venice. From Zurich, Geneva and Basel there are daily direct connections to all major Costa embarkation ports. We arrange flights, transfers and hotels as a complete package on request.

As a Swiss Costa direct partner we get the same prices as Costa itself – and in many cases extra perks: onboard credit, cabin upgrades, drinks packages or early-bird promotions. Plus personal advice in your language, payment in CHF without conversion fees, and a direct contact for changes. It won't be cheaper – but you'll be better taken care of.
