Princess, Holland America, Cunard, Royal Caribbean (limited), MSC and Norwegian operate large routes. Saga, Fred. Olsen and Silversea run specialised Scotland routes with smaller ships that can also call at Hebrides and Orkney.
Swiss passport: no visa for the UK (visa-free up to 6 months) or Ireland (up to 90 days). Since 2025, an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is required for the UK – we'll inform you in good time before booking.
Changeable. Scotland and Ireland are often rainier than southern England. In summer 14–22 °C, sometimes sun and rain on the same day. Waterproof jacket and layered clothing are essential – but you'll be rewarded with spectacular light moods.
10–14 nights for full circumnavigations. Scotland/Ireland mini-routes from 7 nights. If you want to see Scotland and Ireland properly, take 12+ nights – shorter routes usually skip the west coast or the islands.
Yes, ships often go far inland (Edinburgh from Leith, Stonehenge from Southampton, Killarney from Cork). We recommend organised shore excursions from the cruise line or local providers – on your own works well in the major cities.
