Why this region is unique

Few areas offer such contrast: world cities, lonely islands, castles, pubs and rugged Atlantic coasts – all in an English-speaking cultural space.

01
Four countries, one trip
Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland in one cruise – each country with its own history, accent and cuisine. No other route offers such cultural diversity in such a short distance.
02
Right in the city centre
Edinburgh (Leith), Dublin, Cork, Belfast, Liverpool – most ports are directly in the city or reachable by short shuttle. No tendering, no long bus rides into the hinterland.
03
Short flights, mild summers
1.5–2 hours from Zurich to London, Edinburgh or Dublin. Summer with long days (daylight until 10 pm in Scotland in June) and pleasant 18–22 °C – perfect for active shore excursions.
04
English-speaking, easy
No language barrier on land. Card payment everywhere. Culturally familiar: pubs, tea time, castle tours – ideal for travellers who want to combine comfort and authenticity.

British Isles – your questions

May to September. Main season is June–August with the longest days, mild weather (15–22 °C) and the highest selection of routes. May and September are quieter and often cheaper, with slightly more rain risk.

Princess, Holland America, Cunard, Royal Caribbean (limited), MSC and Norwegian operate large routes. Saga, Fred. Olsen and Silversea run specialised Scotland routes with smaller ships that can also call at Hebrides and Orkney.

Swiss passport: no visa for the UK (visa-free up to 6 months) or Ireland (up to 90 days). Since 2025, an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is required for the UK – we'll inform you in good time before booking.

Changeable. Scotland and Ireland are often rainier than southern England. In summer 14–22 °C, sometimes sun and rain on the same day. Waterproof jacket and layered clothing are essential – but you'll be rewarded with spectacular light moods.

10–14 nights for full circumnavigations. Scotland/Ireland mini-routes from 7 nights. If you want to see Scotland and Ireland properly, take 12+ nights – shorter routes usually skip the west coast or the islands.

Yes, ships often go far inland (Edinburgh from Leith, Stonehenge from Southampton, Killarney from Cork). We recommend organised shore excursions from the cruise line or local providers – on your own works well in the major cities.
